For those that aren't familiar with the Beauty Blender, it's basically and egg-shaped sponge that is used to apply your makeup. I'm going to refer to the Beauty Blender as "BB" throughout this post just so I don't have to keep typing the whole name out! Keep in mind that this is just my first impression of the BB, not an intensive review.
The BB comes it a cylindrical package and is about this size, probably even smaller.
My first thought was that it was such a bright pink! I went to the sink to wash it (which you should always do with new tools) and only a little bit of pink dye washed out- a good sign. I was sort of afraid of the pink just because there is a possibility of it bleeding into your makeup and tinting it pink!
After wetting, the BB will expand tremendously. In these two pictures it is hard to tell, but it was more than double the size after I washed it.
From reading so many reviews and watching so many YouTube videos about it, I knew that this was supposed to happen. So yes, according to the instructions on the BB package, you are supposed to run it under the tap and squeeze all of the water out before application.
I used this to apply every part of my face makeup today- foundation, concealer, powder and even blush. I'm not quite sure if I'm happy about it. Since it is damp, it sheers out the foundation and concealer a bit- which can be nice some days. I will say, though, that it prevented my makeup from looking cakey or streaky- which is ALWAYS nice.
I'm going to continue using the BB throughout the week and write an in-depth review over it and give you my final thoughts (basically if it is worth the $20). So keep a lookout for that!
If you have anything specific you would like me to look out for while I'm in the process of reviewing, let me know and I'll try my best to do that for you.
