Real Technique brushes in My Collection!

I have most of the brushes in the range that Real Techniques offers and
I'm happy to say that they are all staples in my collection.

Overall, I would recommend these brushes to anyone.
There are a few things to be aware of if you consider purchasing these brushes.

PROS

  • The price point is very reasonable. The price of the brushes varies by size, and when bought individually they will cost about $5-$10 each. You can buy them in sets of 4 or 5 for about $15-$18 (depending in where you buy) bringing the cost to about $4-$5 each brush. However, there are only two sets to choose from.
  • The quality is good. The bristles could be much softer, but the actual structure of the brush handle and everything else if very durable. Plus, they don't shed.
  • THEY HAVE A BEAUTY BLENDER DUPE. The little orange sponge that you can see in the picture is a great dupe for the Beauty Blender. I have a First Impressions and a Review on the Beauty Blender. The shape of the Real Techniques sponge and the Beauty Blender isn't the same but the texture is spot on. It's become my Beauty Blender replacement!
  • They are easy to find! These brushes are sold at Ulta and are often on sale for the "Buy 1, Get 1 50% off" promotion as well as the 20% off and $3.50 off coupons that Ulta always has. They can also be found at Wal-Mart!

CONS

  • The bases of the brushes can be a bit bulky. As you can see in the picture above, the bases of some of the brushes are quite large. They are made this way so that you can set them on a table and have them stand on their own. I don't find this useful and ultimately can be annoying because they take up so much room in my brush holder.
  • The bristles aren't the softest. They aren't horrible quality but sometimes the face brushes can be pokey.
  • You can only get certain brushes individually. If you buy a brush in a set and you really like it, and you want to buy another, you have to buy the whole set. I wish each brush was available to purchase individually!
